Job Summary:

As the leader in cloud-based software that automates business processes around tax and compliance, Avalaras solution is frequently recommended to companies by the accounting community. The Senior Marketing Manager, Accounting Channel is tasked with creating programs that generate awareness and engagement among accountants throughout the U.S. and ensure they are informed about how Avalara can be an efficient, cost-effective solution for their clients.

Were looking for a marketer who knows the public accounting space, either because youve worked in marketing at an accounting firm or from experience with a vendor that targets public accountants.

Job Duties:

  • Craft the vision of how to build mind share and generate referral leads from public accounting firms
  • Identify opportunities to engage accountants through third-party media and educational programs
  • Plan, execute and evaluate marketing programs including email campaigns, webinars, advertising and other programs focused on building awareness and engagement within the accounting industry
  • Develop tactics and drive content targeting the accounting industry that supports marketing programs and/or campaigns
  • Own the strategy and content for the Accountants Resource Center, an online property aimed at educating and engaging accountants
  • Work closely with business development managers and leaders on lead conversion and nurture strategies to drive referrals from the accounting community
  • Deliver timely marketing and event plans that include success metrics and reports for defined marketing initiatives

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  1. Experience marketing to CPAs/public accounting firms
  2. Bachelors degree. Degree in business, marketing, or communications preferred
  3. Minimum of seven years marketing experience
  4. Experience in B2B technology marketing preferred
  5. Experience with marketing automation, demand generation and online marketing preferred
  6. Understanding of Experience with CRM automation tools (e.g. SalesForce) and marketing automation platforms (e.g. Eloqua) preferred
  7. Ability to effectively analyze data
  8. Comfort with spreadsheets and analysis is a must
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  10. Excellent grasp of B2B marketing, the demand waterfall and the sales process
  11. Expertise in MS Office, and the ability to develop presentations, analyze campaign results and lead gen data
  12. Flexibility, determination and tenacity in a growing and changing environment. You need to be goal-oriented and focus on results, but be adaptive and flexible in a fast-growing company and changing market
  13. Ability to work well independently as well as productively collaborate with teams in multiple business functions
  14. Ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks, timelines and goals
